Ahmed Abbas(Private)
His life story
Son of Said-Mohammed and Naifa. Born on November 6, 1955 in the village of Jat in the Galilee. He completed his elementary education at the village school, and then continued for two years at the high school in Kfar Yasif. Since childhood, he was an avid sports fan, especially soccer. On his own initiative and with his energy, he founded a local soccer team, mentored his friends, and was the living spirit behind the sports activity in the village. Soon, thanks to him, competitions and games were held that united the young people of the village around them.
Ahmed was a friendly and caring boy, loved by his surroundings and always ready to help others. He led initiatives to clean up the village and help those in need, and at school he was a central figure, encouraging and guiding his friends to work for the common good.
On November 15, 1973, he enlisted in the IDF and was stationed in the infantry in the north of the country. He served as a dedicated soldier, loved and respected by his commanders and fellow unit members. On every vacation, he returned home, where he helped his parents support the family and do agricultural work.
On September 25, 1975, Ahmad was killed while performing his duty in the north of the country. He was 19 years old when he was killed. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in the village of Jat, leaving behind his parents, a brother, and three sisters.
In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote:
"The late Ahmed was one of the best fighters. He always strived to contribute and give of himself. I foresaw a great future for him in the unit, but it turned out differently. His image and path will accompany us forever."
