Son of Salim and Saleha. Born on December 30, 1954 in the village of Hurfeish in the Western Galilee, he was born into a respectable Druze family, who made sure to provide him with an education that would open up new possibilities for him. He completed his elementary schooling in his native village, and then studied for two years at the high school in Tarshiha.

In his youth, he was an active member of the Hurfeish Scouts, and this activity reinforced in him the values ​​of responsibility, helping others, and the spirit of volunteerism. He was a modest and pleasant boy, smiling and polite, who was always quick to help anyone in need and was among the first to volunteer for any task. His teachers described him as a beloved and quiet student, who created a good atmosphere around him.

Bhagat loved reading books and newspapers, but he was no less involved in sports – especially soccer and karate – and dreamed of developing a sports career after his military service. Until his conscription, which he delayed slightly due to his youthful appearance, he worked alongside his father in agriculture and various professions, contributing to the family's livelihood.

In November 1973, Bahjat enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to the infantry. He successfully completed his basic training, and was later sent to a platoon commander course. In July 1974, he completed the course and was promoted to the rank of corporal. During his service, he participated in pursuits of infiltrators from the northern border, and during one of them he was wounded in the hand. Despite the injury, he continued to contribute and persevere in his duties.

His dedication and determination did not go unnoticed by his commanders, who informed him that he had been selected to attend an officer course – a great dream he had had since his youth. But before he could fulfill this aspiration, he lost his life in an accident during his military service, on September 19, 1974, less than a year after his enlistment. Bahajat was laid to rest in the cemetery in the village of Hurfeish. He is survived by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote:
"The late Bahat was one of our best fighters. Even when his hand was in a cast, he continued to contribute and help with all his heart. He went through a short but difficult path in the IDF, during which he demonstrated values ​​of dedication, courage, and responsibility. I saw a great future in him in the unit - but fate had other plans. His image will accompany us for many years to come."
