His life story

Son of Nada and Naif. Born on July 1, 1950 in the village of Maghar, the fourth child in the family. He spent his childhood in the village, where he attended elementary school. Later, he completed a framework course and worked in his profession until his enlistment in the IDF.

In 1967, he enlisted in the IDF and served in Brigade 300 on the northern border. After his release, on July 4, 1973, he joined the Border Guard. Saleh stood out for his perseverance and dedication to his mission, and during his service he was honored with several medals of excellence: the Yom Kippur War Medal and the "Operational Service Medal", after completing a series of operational training.

His friends and commanders described him as a broad-hearted man, full of joy, who was endowed with an extraordinary ability to create warm and deep connections with those around him.

In 1976, he married Foz and established his home in the village of Maghar. The two had four sons. Saleh was a devoted father and loving husband, who devoted all his free time to his family. Every free evening and every day of rest was taken advantage of to spend time with his wife and sons, giving them endless warmth and love.

Beyond his security service, he loved the country's landscapes and nature, cared for his home and garden, and in his free time enjoyed going hunting in the great outdoors.

On November 4, 1983, Saleh was killed in the second Tyre disaster, when a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb near a Border Police facility in the city of Tyre. The massive disaster killed about sixty people, including twenty-eight members of the security establishment.

Sergeant Major Saleh was killed in action at the age of 33. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in the village of Maghar.

His family paid him a moving tribute:
"Our family was left without a leader, and one of its best and most dedicated fighters was displaced from the company's leadership."

After his fall, he was awarded The Peace of Galilee War Sign.
