Son of Maisa and Salim. Born in the village of Sejour on July 1, 1928. When he was a baby, he lost his father, and his mother returned to Lebanon. Maizaid was raised and lovingly adopted by his uncles.

At a young age, before he turned eighteen, he enlisted in the British Army. With the establishment of the state, he joined the IDF and later served in the Border Guard.

Throughout his service, Mazyed was known as a loyal and dedicated soldier, beloved by his commanders, subordinates, and comrades-in-arms. He received letters of appreciation and various decorations, including a commendation from a lieutenant colonel.

On September 27, 1967, Mezid, with the rank of First Sergeant, led a Border Guard force in pursuit of a terrorist cell operating east of the Green Line in the Tulkarm area, causing loss of life and property. During the battle, heavy fire was opened on them and grenades were thrown. Mezid demonstrated leadership and personal example, when he threw a grenade at the terrorists and ordered his men to charge. During the charge, he was hit by a hail of gunfire and fell in battle.

Mazyed was 39 years old when he died. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Sejour.

For his bravery he was awarded posthumously The Police Excellence Award.
