Salim Trebia(Sergeant First Class)

Fell on the 27th of Elul 5757 (29.09.1997)
Fell at age 30
His resting place is the Shfaram Cemetery (military section).

His life story

Son of Shfika and Hussein. Born in Shfaram on August 26, 1967. He began his studies at the elementary school in the city and continued at the municipal high school in Shfaram, where he completed a full matriculation certificate.

Upon completing his studies, Salim enlisted in the Border Guard. During his service, he held a series of positions in various sectors throughout the country – in Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Ben Gurion Airport, and the Sharon region. After completing his compulsory service, he chose to continue in permanent service, where he served for nine more years, until his death. His commanders and friends described him as a pleasant, dedicated man, loved by everyone, who was always ready to help and support others.

Salim was an educated and curious person by nature. In his free time, he read a lot of books, especially in the fields of the history and heritage of the people of Israel and the IDF. He loved life, made sure to maintain a warm relationship with his friends, and knew how to combine seriousness with joie de vivre. Among his hobbies were fishing, sports, reading, and spending time with friends.

Alongside his dedicated service, Salim was a pillar of support for his family and supported their livelihood. On his own, without help from anyone, he managed to build two homes. He planned to continue his academic studies and start a family, but his dreams were cut short.

Sergeant Major Salim was killed in action on September 29, 1997, at the age of thirty. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Shfaram. He is survived by six brothers and a sister.
