Fuad Saad(Chief Inspector)

His life story
Son of Samiya and Faiz. Born in Beit Jan on October 1, 1949. He began his studies at the elementary school in his village and continued until he finished high school.
After completing his studies, he enlisted in the IDF and served in a combat unit. In 1970, he successfully completed an officer course and continued in permanent service until 1971.
In 1972, Fuad joined the Border Guard and served in operational roles in Jerusalem. During his service, he proved himself to be a dedicated fighter and commander, took refresher courses and was assigned to the IDF's training unit. He later served in the Southern Border Guard, in Judea and Samaria, and in the North, and was known for his humane approach to his subordinates and his assistance to police officers in the areas of welfare. During his service, Fuad was awarded the Yom Kippur War Medal and the Operational Service Medal.
In 1973, he married Ataf, and together they started a family with three children: Osama, Akram, and Mona. He was a devoted and loving father, who provided education and attention to his children, and in his free time he loved to travel with his family around the country.
His friends and associates describe Fuad as a modest, humble, kind and loyal man, whose smile always brightened up those around him. In 1977, he was promoted to the rank of inspector and appointed as a training officer, a position he held with dedication until his death. In 1979, the family moved to a new house he built for them in Beit Jan.
On the morning of November 11, 1982, during the Galilee Peace War, a building in the city of Tyre, which housed the Israeli military government and IDF forces, collapsed in a disaster that became known as the First Tyre Disaster. About 100 people were killed, including 76 members of the Israeli security forces, including Commander Fuad Saad.
Fuad was 33 years old when he was killed. He was buried in the Beit Jan military cemetery and is survived by his wife and three children. After his death, he was awarded the Galilee Peace War Medal.
His honor is commemorated in monuments: to the martyrs of the settlement of Beit Jan, in the Druze martyrs' memorial in Aspia, at the Border Guard memorial site at the Iron Junction, and at the police memorial site at the Police College in Beit Shemesh.
