Rabih Fares(Master Sergeant)
Rabih Fares(Master Sergeant)

His life story
Ben Zamoured and Ahmad. Born in the village of Beit Jan on April 1, 1952, in a village known for its long tradition of service and dedication to the security of the state. There he grew up, was educated, and was absorbed in the values of the community and the tribe.
On November 25, 1969, he enlisted in the IDF for compulsory service in the infantry. In 1973, he joined the Border Guard, where he was among the best fighters, and was later selected to serve in the elite unit – the Border Patrol Unit. In this unit, he excelled in his operational abilities and was appointed team commander. His commanders described him as an experienced combatant, with rich operational experience, a humane approach, and good and exemplary relations with his fighters and commanders.
During his service, Raviach was decorated with many medals: the YAM Medal, the Yom Kippur War Medal, the Operational Service Medal, and the Galilee Peace War Medal.
Beyond his military service, Rabih was a devoted family man. He married Shaia and was the father of Shadi, Hala, and Ahsan. His home was full of warmth and love, always open to guests and friends. His great love was poetry, and he often hosted poetry evenings and even performed in front of audiences.
On November 11, 1982, during the Galilee Peace War, Raviv perished in the first Tyre disaster. A powerful explosion destroyed the building in the city of Tyre where the Israeli military government was located alongside many forces, causing the structure to collapse. The massive disaster killed about one hundred people, including seventy-six members of the security forces – and Raviv was among them.
Sergeant Major Rabeeh was 30 years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in the village of Beit Jan. He left behind a wife, two sons and a daughter.
